LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST


Summary:

Work with teams across the organization to help deliver comprehensive and engaging learning programs and continuous training. DMW’s Mission Statement is the essence of company Policies and Procedures. The Learning and Development Specialist (L&D Specialist) is a key member of the Quality Department, striving to assist employee’s reach company goals and expectations by broadening and deepening their knowledge, skillset and attitude in their day-to-day job functions.

Reports To:
Quality Assurance Manager

Qualifications:

  • Three to Five years experience in Training and Development.
  • Strong consultative approach with experience in conducting Training and Learning analysis, familiarity with design thinking and agile learning development techniques.
  • Adept knowledge with multimedia training platforms, e-learning platforms.
  • Must have working knowledge of Microsoft: Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to interact in large and small groups of varying seniority levels.
  • Must have excellent problem solving, organizational and communication/presentation skills (i.e., verbal and written; presentations).
  • Must have the ability to successfully embrace an environment of ambiguity, change and problem resolution.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and execute learning strategies, objectives and learning impact metrics.
  • Work with Quality Department to evaluate overall individual and organizational development needs on an annual basis.
  • Implement and facilitate internal training company-wide (i.e. coaching, e-learning courses, compliance training, workshops, job-shadowing, instructor led and online training).
  • Coordinate external training activities, including professional development.
  • Assess the success of skill development plans and help employees make the most of learning opportunities.
  • Train and coach managers, supervisors and others involved in employee development efforts.
  • Develop methods to measure the impact of training and investments.
  • Reporting of monthly training hours and/or cost applicable.
  • Assist with maintaining contracts and relationships with external vendors, marketing, branding or other specialty professionals.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize utilization and maintenance of training content, processes, tools and DMW’s Learning Management System (LMS).
