PROCUREMENT MANAGER


Summary:

Manages all aspects of procurement and sourcing function including supplier selection, qualification, material cost management and development. This position works closely with other departments.

Reports To:
Vice President of Operations

Qualifications:

  • BA in business, engineering supply chain or related preferred.
  • Must have minimum seven years relevant materials management and process improvement.
  • Strong working knowledge of inventory planning, forecasting techniques as well as operational systems and warehouse management.
  • Excellent MS Office capabilities (Outlook, Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint).
  • Must have excellent organizational and communication skills (verbal and written).

Responsibilities:

  • Set and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the Purchasing Department.
  • Develop and maintain a high- performance culture in function, resulting in continued success meeting function KPIs and improved levels of customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Monitor purchasing performance.
  • Act as a liaison with other departments such as Project Management, Sales, Engineering and Warehouse personnel to ensure alignment of activities and objectives.
  • Build relationships with suppliers to support the company’s goals and objectives.
  • Coordinate with internal Plant Management to determine the optimal venue for requested jobs (internal or outsourced).
  • Prepare and distribute bid proposal requests to suppliers for all outsourced.
  • Compile and summarize bid proposal responses for review and selection with the requesting manager.
  • Manage all aspects of out-sourced manufacturing, including but not limited to: scheduling, inspections, investigation and reporting.
  • Proactively seek problem-solving resolutions to issues that arise during the purchasing or out-sourced manufacturing processes.
