RELEASE ENGINEER


Summary:

The Release Engineer is an engineering position specifically to assist project engineers and project managers in the creation, revision, issuance and tracking of Work Orders and ABMs to various suppliers, shops and job sites. This position reports to the Engineering Manager and assists Project Engineers and Project Managers.

Qualifications:

  • MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Project and Access)
  • Familiarity with AutoDesk, AutoCAD and Inventor
  • Must be able to open drawings and models and plot drawings from AutoCAD & Inventor
  • Must possess strong analytical and math capabilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic drafting skills, 2-D, orthographic projection, dimensioning, layers, lines types, etc.
  • Blueprint reading

Education Requirements:

  • B.S.E. Degree preferred with 2-5 years experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Documentation development, drawing, technical support.
  • Work Orders and Advance Bill of Materials (ABM): Create, revise, issue and maintain documents related to securing quotations, purchase and fabricate and ship as directed by the Project Manager.
  • Purchase Orders: Coordinating with Director/Project Manager the typing and distribution of purchasing, with back-up for our files. Checking weights if questionable.
  • Bid Drawings/Quotes: Issuing work order and prints to selected bidders as directed by the Project Manager.
  • Maintain Bulletin Log Summary for each project.
  • Consciences about productivity, timing and work quality such that efforts are efficient and effective to the end result.
  • Create, update and issue customer maintenance requirements including spare parts, FIS, TMS, WCM etc.
  • Create, update and issue maintenance and system manuals.
  • Create and issue installation support items such as printed tags, lamination, etc.
  • Point contact for questions from sub-fabricators. Direct questions to the appropriate Project Manager or Project Engineer.
  • Other duties as assigned.
